acquire the House of Correction for the Ripon Museum Trust and
to preserve its fabric.
To continue the
preservation of Ripon's Law and Order buildings, which include
the Prison and Workhouse, developing them into a major Yorkshire
attraction.
To develop the existing
Prison and police Museum allowing progressive growth of display
areas to accommodate the increased amount of memorabilia.
To assist in increasing
tourism in Ripon and in lengthening the time spent by visitors
in the city.
To further develop the
Prison and Police Museum to provide educational benefits
complimentary to the National Curriculum Law and Order subject.
To benefit the people of
Ripon and the surrounding areas by the improvement of the
environment around the House of Correction and by attracting
